The Westcot Bariatric Patient Cot was introduced at the behest of
various agencies that needed to support the bariatric population who
sought shelter at traditional evacuation centers during hurricanes along
the Gulf Coast. They need a light weight, portable and reusable product
which offered comfort and safety for bariatric citizens.
Its use can be expanded to allow multiple children as well as parents to sleep
comfortably while not occupying multiple cots. Please like to push the cots together but it creates traffic flow problems. This disaster cot is built wider,
taller and longer and tested beyond its 700 pound weight capacity rating to
ensure you can provide the best solution in a portable / emergency sleeping cot.
We recommend 6 bariatric cots per shelter of 500 people. One could also be placed in the Shelter First Aid / medical station. Ask us about rolling carts made to make deployment and assembly fast and easy.
